The UPA won the confidence motion that was passed by the prime minister of India Dr.Manmohan Singh by 19 votes.The United progressive alliance led by Dr.Manmohan Singh won the confidence motion that took place in the parliament yesterday gaining 275 favorable votes. the unfavorable votes were 256, there by making a prestigious victory.
This confidence motion issue was brought up by the BJP(Bharathiya Janatha Party) as the left front parties consisting of the CPI(communist party of India) and the CPM (markxit communist party) withdrew their support that they were giving to the UPA due to the controversial issue over Nuclear deal that India will be signing very soon with the USA.
The UPA could withstand the confidence motion as few MP's from BJP and Biju Janadhathal voted in favor of the UPA.In response to this, the MP's who supported the UPA are being dismissed from their parties respectively, along with the honorable speaker of the Lokh Sabha Mr.Somanth Chatergee from the Markxist communist party.
The UPA government gained support at the last minute from few parties which include the Samajwadi party by which achieved its prestigious victory.But there were few controversies that arose when few opposition party MP's complained that they were tried to be bribed by the UPA for voting in favour of them.They showed crores of money consisting of thousand rupee notes to the speaker early the day.
