The country's second largest software exporter, Infosys, on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of buying Satyam saying the IT major "will not touch any tainted company".
"We have no such interest in looking at buying Satyam... absolutely not... We will not touch any such tainted company that's very very clear," Infosys Founder and Chief Mentor Narayana Murthy said in an interview to a private television channel.
He said that the Satyam incident will not have an backlash on the Indian IT sector.
"Every company, certainly large companies, they have very close relationship with customers. The CEOs and senior management of the Indian industry have a close relationship with the senior management of the customer companies...
"We have a lot of transactions where we have demonstrated class, quality and integrity, so I don't think all of that will be destroyed just because of one bad apple, because there is one Satyam," the non-executive chairman of the company added.
Talking about the course of action following the Satyam fiasco, Murthy said the need of this hour for the regulators is to act decisively.
"The most important first step for regulatory authority of India is to get the bottom of this and take a swift and decisive action to bring the guilty to whatever punishment they deserve," he said.
Murthy said that the IT industry has to communicate to their investors and customers and all potential investors that Satyam is indeed an isolated case of misgovernance and must all be prepared to answer further questions so that the investors get an enhanced level of comfort.

a vetran of his stature should refrain from giving such type of comments
for one man’s act can a company be tainted
should we call infy a sexual harassing company and with no national pride
for Phanish murthy and this old chap’s act of not allowing national anthem to be played inside the camups

As a long term Satyam employee who is reeling with complete shock at Raju's revelations, Narayana Murthy's comments have made my blood boil. Satyam is a company of 50000 dedicated people, not one man, and this is not a "tainted" company. Thanks, Mr Murthy, for making me also feel like a criminal.

Mr. NRN,
As an Indian I thought you are Idol for IT guru from India. But with your comment about Satyam Company and employees saying “Tainted Company and we won’t take/hire any employees from Satyam to YOUR INFOSYS…..”, I want post you couple Questions to you..
1. All employees from Top to Bottom in YOUR INFOSYS having visibility of all the transactions done by INFOSYS? If not how can you expect because of one persons did mistake commenting about 53,000 employees?
2. Do you think that all the data given by INFOSYS 100% accurate in all the parameters, Like Employee count, Bank Balances, Each and every data in YOUR INFOSYS balance sheet is correct?
3. Do you think all the bills (including LTA/Medical Bills) providing by ALL INFOSYS Employees are 100% accurate and paying the proper taxes to Govt. of India?
4. Are you sure, INFOSYS Business Development Resources are not approaching any of the Satyam clients to get the current running projects based on current Satyam reason?
5. Are you sure, INFOSYS not taking any of the Satyam Associates? We have data INFOSYS trying to get benefit by Hiring Satyam people at less than current Salary.
End of this, I want to suggest only one thing..
“As a human, if other person/company is in trouble because of come issues, if you have guts/heart/capacity you should help them else you should NOT COMMENT”.
I am personally wondering how you are able to reach that position without having ‘common sense’. So I can bet that you are reached that position by”Fluke or some one’s mind power”. Your mind is not ready to take the Challenge.
It is not a basic quality of a LEADER. So I can conclude that you are also one more “Man Made Manager” or “Business Man”.
I pray god, “To give you power to control your words”.
Thanks and Regards,
Jagath
